Passwords

There is no reason for having these constant password changes. This only makes it more difficult to use.

MyUSPTO.gov timeout

The time out needs to be increased significantly. Signing in with PKI certificates was 55 minutes, but signing in with myuspto.gov is too short of a time period until timing out (and no time out notice appears in the system tray). Please fix this! It is frustrating to have to re-sign in multiple times a day (AND select traffic lights, store fronts, etc.)

Patent Docket

It would be nice if we could monitor patent applications that we have filed under our customer number right away. For some reason, it seems you have to wait until they are published.

Size of password

Don't require so many extra security features in password. 12-character size is too long. Need for both number and special character is too much.

Firm vs. Individual Users

It's not clear whether you are setting up a system in which every member of a firm who files an application would need a separate uspto.gov account or whether the account should be in the name of a single firm administrator. It appears that you want individual accounts, however, firms typically use a single email address for all uspto correspondence, so it is not possible for individuals to each set up an account. Do not require two step authentication after first login

In addition to substantially lengthening the auto-logout time, do not require two step authentication (i.e., entering a code emailed or texted from USPTO) after a user selects the box "Remember this computer" and successfully logs in with two step authentication.

Status notifications for Trademark Docket

I would like to receive an email notification if someone files a change in correspondence address for an application or registration that is set up in MyUSPTO's Trademark Docket. It appears that people are gaming the Amazon Brand Registry by changing the correspondence address so that Amazon's notices are sent to someone other than the correspondent of record. They do not change the name of the attorney, so they do not... more »
