The time out needs to be increased significantly. Signing in with PKI certificates was 55 minutes, but signing in with myuspto.gov is too short of a time period until timing out (and no time out notice appears in the system tray). Please fix this! It is frustrating to have to re-sign in multiple times a day (AND select traffic lights, store fronts, etc.)
You should be able to switch in between registered e-filers who have sponsored you without having to log out of your my.uspto.gov account each time.
In addition to substantially lengthening the auto-logout time, do not require two step authentication (i.e., entering a code emailed or texted from USPTO) after a user selects the box "Remember this computer" and successfully logs in with two step authentication.
The new sponsorship tool is, I'm happy to report, a snap to use. However, there are some issues with the sponsorship paradigm that should be rectified ASAP. First, there is no way for a firm (or any customer number owner) to see who has access to a given customer number by way of sponsorship--you can check which practitioners are associated with a customer number quite easily, but there is no mechanism that allows customer... more »
If a user signs in to the EBS website with a known device (often also with an IP address known to the system), the system automatically has at least two-factor authentication. Such logons are "well-known to those skilled in the art of website-making" and are common in banking and other security websites. (Best "prior art" would be Jack Henry software, but there are numerous other examples.) The two-part authentication... more »
Proposal: Allow one's USPTO.gov account settings to show all the two-step authentication options you have setup. Currently: Currently when you go to your account settings and look at Two-Step Authentication, only one radio button can be selected which gives the impression that a user can only have one method. This is not true. I first selected my email. After verifying that. I then selected my email and verified that.... more »
I have gone through all of the indicated warnings/cues and gone through the processes for (1) changing my MyUSPTO password, and (2) linking MyUSPTO with the EFS online filing and private PAIR system --- yet I continue to get the boxes that indicate I need to go through the process ---- is this just over-cautiousness in the USPTO system? Or does this mean there is something wrong and there remains a risk that I'll be locked... more »
Now that MyUSPTO is linked to Private PAIR allow the links under Check Status to link to Private PAIR.
myUSPTO has re-captcha enabled on all logins which prevents bot/automated access. this was not the case for private pair. We had tools which would automate the login process and download XML files daily to help our firm. Now that private pair is moving to myUSPTO these tools will no longer work. Is there any planned release for an API to private pair data? Or is there a way to disable 'recaptcha' for my account? Why would... more »
The What's New section indicates:
We added a share feature in the Patent Docket that allows you to
grant other users access to a read-only view of your collections.

However, I cannot seem to location the option to share.
I use the "PATENT DOCKET" and think that it is convenient. I am however not satisfied with the link on the "Application #". When I notice that one of the applications in my collection has a status change, I want to see new documents, which are now available in the "Image File Wrapper" of the "Public PAIR". Although there is a link on the "Application #" in the "PATENT DOCKET", this link only leads to the portal of the... more »
Dear Sir/Ma'am, Firstly, heartfelt gratitude for providing email-notifications for "change in status" for public patents and patent applications under Patent Dockets widget in MyUSPTO. It is a welcome move and would help Patent analyst community across the globe immensely. I wish to share an idea that can this facility be extended to provide email alerts for "changes in Image Wrapper" for public patents and patent applications?... more »
I would love to be able to to have a user account linked to my individual inventor file. I would like to have all of my patent applications located under my account and customer number. I would like to have the option of viewing my status and all of the particulars of my individual account. I would like auto suggestions and email updates.
It could be useful if in
MyUSPTO - Patent Docket - Collection there is a link/jump/shortcut to Fees Payment for each patent copying the pantent/application numbers.
I have failed in creating an account for many times, How to complete in creating an account and pay the maintenance fee?
